And here's another one:

They have quite a lot of good stuff, particularly
for Southern California radio fans & collectors.
Also recommended is Walt Bailey at
http://www.oldradioshows.com/
who sells quite a bit of his dubs over on Ebay.
Most of what he has are recent rock-related radio
shows (American Top 40 countdowns, etc.), but
there's also quite a few Beatles/1960s-related music
shows as well.

Jilly's Flipside sounds a lot like The Battle Of New
Orleans to me.

Subject: Motown Album Covers
Okay, guys and gals, need your help.
Recently a record executive made a bold claim in R&R
when he said:
"In the early days of Motown you never saw the artist
on an album cover: you saw a white couple on a beach
or blonde, blue eyed go-go dancers."
So, I tried to locate some early coves and here's what
I found:
The Supremes were on the cover of Meet the Supremes
(1963) and Where Did Our Love Go (1964). Mary Wells
is pictured on the single "The One Who Really Loves
You" (1962). On the back is a picture of Marvin Gaye.
Temptations are on the cover of Meet the Temptations
1964
I just can't find any covers with the Blonde Haired,
Blue Eyed Go-Go dancer covers on them.
When I informed the record executive of this he said:
"There were several early Temptations, Four Tops,
Smokey & the Miracles, Contours ... to name a few of
the releases.. Exact years? I don't have them
immediately available but Billboard reference books
circa 1960 - 1963 should reveal your answers."
Is he right? If so, did it happen more often than with
other artists? (For instance, the Beach Boys didn't
appear on Surfin' USA. etc.)
Did Motown put white people on the covers frequently?
Or is this another urban legend?
Did Motown really: Sing it Loud, I'm Black and I'm
Proud?
If so, examples?
But, if you could check through you're early Motown
lps and let me know, I'd appreciate.
Thanks a bunch,
Paul MacArthur

Does anyone have a clean sounding copy of Jan And Dean"s "Girl
You're Blowing My Mind"? It was released on Warner Bros in 1968 and
after hearing (a poor copy of) it I can't figure out why it wasnt a
hit.
PS; I hope to be adding more songs to GirlPop radio this week
including the Jill Gibson version of "It"s As Easy as 1-2-3". I
havent added to the playlist in more than 3 months because of
family/work matters.
