I haven't posted here before since after lurking for awhile I
found I wasnt even close to being in this groups league. But
I do like lurking here.

I have to make a posting exception this time because of Reparata
and the Delrons especially Nanette Licari.

I'll keep this brief.

After being wounded in Vietnam I was sent to St. Albans naval
hospital. The group was visiting a serviceman in the next bed.
after awhile Nanette wandered over to my bed and we had a
delightful chat. I asked her if I could call her after I was
back on my feet. She said ok.

Well, this girl took me under her wing just when I need a wing to
be under. Home was quite a ways away. She took me around with
her on some of her engagements and even to the RCA studios.
I really had a good time.

As you might imagine, times were bad for the Vietnam Vet back then.
I believe Nanette played a major role in my rehab and getting me
assimilated back into "the world".

I've been home 35 years now and I think of her often. I pray that
she's had a good life.

I don't have contact info for Nanette, but if John Clemente is lurking around here, he might know how to contact her. He interviewed Mary Aiese for his book and Nanette performed until 1993 with her. I'm sure she'd love to hear from her : ) Will -------------------[ archived by Spectropop ]-------------------

I just wanted you all to know that there was a "rest of the story." grunt -------------------[ archived by Spectropop ]-------------------
Message: 4 Date: Tue, 16 Jul 2002 21:16:06 -0500 From: unclemeatz Subject: New Millennium-related Rev-Ola releases...and a Smoke query Is it safe to assume that - like Misty Mirage, Sandy, Again, and Joey's album - these new Rev-Ola Lee Mallory and Sandy Salisbury comps will be copies of material already availible on Dreamsville? i.e. Falling to Pieces (plus the demos that showed up on Sandy, probably) and That's the Way It's Gonna Be? Also, this might be slightly off-topic for this list, but I've heard of a new Smoke (UK) comp called 'High in a Room' (2CD)... they put out precious little material, with the recent Retroactive comp pretty packed to teh brim, yet simultaneously beginning to run out of material. Anybody have any idea what could be on this, and where information can be found? Thanks, -D -------------------[ archived by Spectropop ]-------------------
