Message: 1 Date: Sat, 06 Dec 2003 18:18:00 -0800 From: Kim Cooper Subject: David Hemmings I was sorry to learn of David Hemmings' death on a Romanian film set. Can't help thinking Eastern European medical care is not perhaps adequate to protect heavyset older folks doing demanding creative work. I had hoped one day to learn the inside scoop on his interesting album made in collaboration with several Byrds, "David Hemmings Happens." Strange, in light of his off-key vocals on that disc, to read in his obit that he was a child vocal prodigy. It can't have been easy to completely shed that kind of training. Hmmm.... Kim -- Scram PO Box 461626 Hollywood, CA 90046-1626 Scram #18 out now with Emitt Rhodes, the Ramones, Marty Thau, Smoosh and more. -------------------[ archived by Spectropop ]-------------------
